Community forum on Dakota County shelter for single adults As a result of these efforts, we as a community have heightened the political and public awareness for those experiencing homelessness in Dakota County. The county is now beginning a planning process to provide a framework to create and operate permanent emergency shelter for a long term solution. Please join us to learn about plans to open a temporary/rotational shelter by November 1, 2017, identify temporary sites to shelter up to 50 people per night in the coming winter and find a stable site for the future. Together we can provide the resources and support needed to serve our neighbors experiencing homelessness. |

John Hinderaker is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School and practiced law for 41 years until he retired from law practice in 2015. John is a founder and frequent contributor to the Power Line blog, a fellow at the Claremont Institute, and President of Center of the American Experiment. John's extensive writings on public policy include pieces where he has disputed the scientific consensus on human-induced climate change (5/1/2017), declared the Supreme Court ruling upholding marriage equality as antithetical to American democracy (6/26/2015), characterized former President Obama as a "thug" (6/21/2010), "not one of us" (8/18/2010), and running a "Gangster Government" (9/20/2010), sympathized with anti-government rancher Cliven Bundy (4/21/2014), and described the Mueller investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election as a political effort "to destroy the Trump administration" (7/21/2017). John will present a study published by CAE which suggests that MnDOT and the Met Council deliberately encourage road congestion to force commuters onto transit. Mr. Hinderaker lives with his family in Apple Valley, Minnesota. |
