I grew up in rural southern MN about 20 miles SW of Mankato, in Madelia. I attended Gustavus Adolphus College where I received my Financial Economics Degree. My wife Mary, and I have been residents of Eagan for 26 years, and we have 2 boys, Collin and Krister. Collin is attending the College of St Scholastica in Duluth, and Krister is at Eagan High School.
Other employment since college has included Dean Witter Reynolds Brokerage, and Norwest Bank. For the past 27 years, I have served south metro Educators and school employees with Horace Mann Insurance. We specialize in all the personal lines of insurance (auto, home, toys), Life Insurance, and retirement programs. I am the Agency Owner/President of the Mark G. Anderson Insurance Agency, Inc. My office is located in Burnsville and includes myself, two licensed producers, and two office assistants.
I am Head Course Marshal for the Twin Cities Marathon TC 10 mile, “Shortcut to the Capitol” and have served on several event committees with TCM, and metro area groups. In my spare time I enjoy running, golfing, triathlons, attending Timberwolves games, supporting the activities/sports of our boys (in basketball, Collin was Freshman of the Year and contributed 36 pts in 4 OT loss in the UMAC Championship Game last season), and helping my wife with the many running events she manages. Highlights of activities include the destination marathons that I have completed in NYC, Honolulu, and Disney World.
