Invite your friends and neighbors to our monthly social at Eagan's newest and only brew pub.  This is a great opportunity to sample their craft beers and socialize with our friends from the Noon Club and potential new members.  The owner's have graciously volunteered to donate 50% of the proceeds that night to our club's Polio Plus goal.  Additional donations will be accepted that night.  The Bald Man Brewing is located at 2020 Silver Bell Road Suite 28 Eagan, MN.  We'll meet from 5 pm to 7 pm.  Come join us to have fun and raise money for Polio Plus

Walk for Water is on Saturday, September 17 at Upper Landing Park in St. Paul. It is sponsored by PENTAIR and Pace Analytical, supporters of Rotary International’s goals to provide safe water, proper sanitation, and economic development to those who are most in need.

Let’s be a significant Rotary presence at the walk! I HAVE SET UP A TEAM:  "ROTARY 5950"  To get more information and register to walk at
http://events.watermissions.org/site/TR/WalkinaBucket/General?team_id=3908&pg=team&fr_id=1571  Remember, to register under our team!  The cost to register is $20.  [Can't make it, you can donate if you like.] You get a tee shirt (pick your size when you register), snacks and entertainment.   I am bringing my wife Colleen and our two grandchildren.  Kids participate free.   Our group is trying to raise $2,500, but I would like us to swamp the top team!  Can you imagine 250 Rotarians, that's $5,000!
TreeHouse Gala Benefit on Oct. 3
Treehouse is a metro-wide 501(c)(3) wired into the large public high schools.  With the help of guidance counselors and social workers, Treehouse identifies and reaches out to youth struggling mightily with addictions, dysfunctional families, bullying, etc.  Treehouse helps youth rebuild their lives, stay in school and focus on serving others.  Check out the record of success at www.treehouseyouth.org.  It's amazing work!

The event will be held October 3rd, 630-830 pm at Vivo Kitchen in Apple Valley.  provided free will be heavy hors d' oeurves, good wine, and music by Thick Friends.  That will be the fun!  TreeHouse director, Paul Maloney,  will deliver the message about Treehouse' work, and we hope to stir up some generosity with an ask for a free-will offering...a very simple approach. We want to fill Vivo with 100+ generous souls.  100% of the money raised will go to Treehouse to help youth!

We're asking for RSVPs to Scott Erickson at scott.erickson55@gmail.com, or by text to 651-283-8627, by 9/26.

Career Day at Inver Hill Community College

Volunteers Needed to Help IHCC Students with the Career Path

Inver Hills Community College and Eagan Kick Start Rotary Club will be hosting a Career Dar at IHCC on Tuesday October 25 from 11 to 2 on the campus.  We need volunteers to speak in small group breakout sessions to talk about their career path and how they have become the professional that they are. The goal is to help students see beyond college and what the future could be for them.  All types of careers can be represented at the breakout session.  We want to engage the student to keep making progress to a college degree and help them see the payoff for their hard work.  See either Eric Swanson or Dave Verbeke to volunteer.   We are looking for speakers in the following areas:

-    Business/Management/Administration
-    Agriculture/Food/Natural Resources
-    Arts/Communications/Information Systems
-    Engineering/Manufacturing/Technology
-    Health Science Technology
-    Human Services

Speakers do not need to be Rotarians so if you know of someone else that may be good for this please extend the invite.
