Getting Down to Business

Business Meeting December 8, 2016

Eagan Kick-Start Rotary awarded $500 to Cheryl Caponi in support of the new construction of an outdoor classroom at Caponi Art Park.  The total cost of the project was $30,000.  CAP looks forward to being able to offer programming rain or shine in the coming season!

Eagan Kick-Start Rotary sponsored three local students in Camp Enterprise.  Two students from Eagan High School and one student from Eastview High School spoke at the business meeting about their experiences at the event.

Eagan Kick-Start Rotary welcomes Luther Wynder as the newest member of the club.  He moved to the area following a job opportunity with the Minnesota Valley Transport Authority.  Eagan Kick-Start Rotary supported the MVTA food drive to "Stuff the Bus" which benefits local food shelves.

We bid farewell to our very own Christina Royal and Kristin Reither.  They move on to exciting new career chapters, and we will miss them both!  This photo was taken during a happy hour held in their honor on December 7, 2016.

Thank You for Supporting Guild Inc
Kick-Start Rotary Club Members,

Thank you for attending the Guild Incorporated Ladder of Hope luncheon event in St. Paul last week and/or contributing to Guild. A total of 666 persons attended the event and contributed a total of $217,000. Your support and generosity resulted in our table having the tenth highest contribution total out of 68 tables!

You demonstrated the Rotary spirit of service and generosity in supporting Guild's mission on behalf of those facing the challenges of mental illness. I am proud to be part of a group that is so passionate about serving others in need!

I hope that as a group and individually we will include Guild among the organizations that deserve our continued support in the future.

Again, my sincere thanks!

Help Rotary improve-Take the Online Survey
Do you have ideas for making District 5950 more vibrant?
All Rotarians received a November 22 email inviting them to complete an online survey about why we join Rotary, why we stay, and what can be improved. Your responses are confidential. District leaders will use this information to improve our membership approach and public image.
If you haven’t completed the survey yet, please follow this link and spend 5-10 minutes sharing your opinions: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WLPWJTJ. The survey is available until December 30. Data will be compared to similar questions from the October 2013 survey when 1,205 Rotarians responded. Results will be shared with members on the District 5950 website, DG newsletter, and at District gatherings such as Mid-Term Assembly and Pre-PETS. Clubs can also request a club-specific compilation of responses.
District leaders sincerely thank you for investing your time and thought in this survey
Mid Term Assembly Meeting on January 28th
Make plans now to attend the upcoming District Mid Term meeting on a Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 at Earle Brown Center in Brooklyn Park.  Attending the District meetings with other Rotary members from across the metro is a great way to learn more about Rotary and the projects that are going on.  Our club would like to see 10 members attend the meeting.  The cost is free and includes lunch.  Look for more details in an upcoming newsletter
