30888 Meals Packed by Interact and Rotary Members!
 On Monday, October 10 the Interact Club from Eagan High School and Rotary members from the Eagan Kick-Start and Eagan Noon Club joined forces to pack meals at Feed My Starving in Eagan.  In 2 hours the team packed 143 boxes of FMSC's Manna kits to be delivered to starving children across the world.  That effort will provide nutrition for 85 children for a year!  Eagan Kick-Starters Mike Ferber, Gary Hansen, Gene Kuppenbender, Doreen Runquist and Dave Verbeke were on hand to help out
Kick-Starters Clean Up the Neighborhood
Our first Adopt a Street cleanup was held on Saturday October 8th on O'Neill Drive in Eagan near the Vikings new training center. David Bullock, Mike Ferber, Gary Hansen, Jerri Neddermeyer, Mike Supina Eric Swanson and Brooklyn from Can Do Canines helped with the cleanup!  Our commitment to the the city is for two clean ups per year.  Look for another opportunity to help out in the Spring!  Thanks to all who helped!
 
Guild Incorporated Luncheon
Guild Incorporated, a St. Paul non-profit organization that provides integrated services for persons with mental disabilities, has a major fundraiser, the Ladder of Hope luncheon, scheduled at noon on December 7 at the Intercontinental St. Paul Riverfront. Gary Hansen, a table captain for this event, invites Rotarians to join him for lunch to learn about Guild’s programs and hear inspiring messages from a few who benefit from them. Career Day at Inver Hills Community College

Volunteers Needed to Help IHCC Students with the Career Path
 
Inver Hills Community College and Eagan Kick Start Rotary Club will be hosting a Career Dar at IHCC on Tuesday October 25 from 11 to 2 on the campus.  We need volunteers to speak in small group breakout sessions to talk about their career path and how they have become the professional that they are. The goal is to help students see beyond college and what the future could be for them.  All types of careers can be represented at the breakout session.  We want to engage the student to keep making progress to a college degree and help them see the payoff for their hard work.  See either Eric Swanson or Dave Verbeke to volunteer.   We are looking for speakers in the following areas:
 
-    Business/Management/Administration
-    Agriculture/Food/Natural Resources
-    Arts/Communications/Information Systems
-    Engineering/Manufacturing/Technology
-    Health Science Technology
-    Human Services

Speakers do not need to be Rotarians so if you know of someone else that may be good for this please extend the invite.
