Susan Ryan, Sleep in Heavenly Peace

As an all volunteer nonprofit chapter of an international organization, the Twin Cities South chapter of Sleep In Heavenly Peace (SHP) joyfully builds and delivers beds to kids 3-17 that are sleeping on the floor and in other uncomfortable situations. They are locally funded by organizations and individuals, receive support from local volunteers to build and deliver beds, and serve kids in portions of Dakota and Scott counties. Beds are assembled in the child's sleeping area and come with mattress, pillow and bedding so they are sleep ready the same day.

We will be collecting new twin sized bedding sets for this organization (in partnership with the Eagan Interact Club) so please conder bringing a donation to this meeting.

Wallie Kuchinski has been on board all 15 seasons of the Glenn Caruso era, guided a defense that earned a reputation among Division III's best and quickly placed it as one of the best in Division I FCS. His defensive athletes received 15 All-America honors in the last 11 seasons.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Build Event

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is hosting a build event! Please join us to build beds for kids in our community who are without beds. We will cut, sand assemble and ifinsih bed componoents. No experience is necessary as there are jobs for everyone. All supplies are provided.

Dr. Jody Janati, Find Your Conversation Peace

Trainer, speaker, conference facilitator… Jody Janati has an Ed.D. degree in Organizational Leadership, and a M.A. degree in Speech Communication. She currently teaches in the Communication Studies Department at the University of Minnesota. She offers a variety of public and professional workshops on conflict reduction tactics and effective communication skills throughout the year. During her academic career she has held a number of administrative positions in higher education, taught for various colleges in the Twin Cities metro area and authored four books.

Brian Bessler and the Twins will be donating $5 per ticket sold to each club's Paul Harris Foundation Fund!

Harry Daubitz is Social Studies educator currently working at the Middle School level in Eagan, Minnesota and previously in Madrid, Spain and Minneapolis, MN. He has extensive experience with curriculum development, EdTech implementation, behavior management, social emotional learning environments, as well as athletic and academic coaching. He believe in providing complete, collective, and inclusive history to students of all ages and abilities. He currently serves on the district history curriculum transformation committee, STEAM curriculum teams, and the National Constitution Center's Teacher Advisory Council.

Ruff Start Rescue is a foster-based nonprofit companion animal rescue that radiates compassion and dedication. Their mission extends beyond borders, reaching communities throughout Minnesota and the southern states plagued by stray pet overpopulation. They rescue the voiceless victims of neglect, abandonment, and despair—dogs, cats, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, and many other critters. Every single day, their efforts are propelled by volunteers, fosters, and supporters who unite as a force of unwavering love, saving thousands of lives.

Their vision statement,  is simple: "We strive for a world where every companion animal has a safe and loving home and their family has the knowledge and resources needed to give them the life they deserve."

Eric Johnsrud is the current chair of the North Star Rotary Youth Exchange. 

North Star Youth Exchange encompasses two Rotary districts (5950 and 5960), which are large geographical areas in south-central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Throughout this area, local Rotary clubs provide this international opportunity to eager, ambitious, and inquisitive high school students — both to come to our area to experience American life, or to go abroad to one of over 30 countries around the world.

Elisabeth Wilson is the Program Director for Making Our Moms Successful (M.O.M.S.). The M.O.M.S. Program is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that empowers single moms through holistic growth, including spiritual, educational, and personal development. The program's mission is to foster well-being and economic stability for single moms and their families through Christian mentoring and coordinated services.

The M.O.M.S. Program officially started in 1990 and has been serving single moms for over 30 years. The program is unique in that it provides long-term mentoring relationships, typically lasting up to five years, to help single moms achieve their individual goals and build healthy, stable homes for their children.

The Drawer is an organization that provides clean socks and underwear to homeless and underprivileged individuals. They collect donations of new socks and underwear through partnerships with community organizations, individuals, and other partners. The organization not only provides essential items to those in need but also aims to foster a sense of community and empower individuals to make a positive impact in the world.

At this meeting, we will be hands on working with The Drawer to put together bundles of socks and underwear to be donated to those in need.
