December began with a busy week for Kick-Starters!
GUILD LADDER OF HOPE
From Gary Hansen: Thank you to Kick-Start Club members for supporting the important work of Guild, Inc.! Several members attended the Dec. 5 Ladder of Hope luncheon and others joined in making donations. This year’s event attracted the greatest attendance of any in the five years that I have been involved as a Guild volunteer. We helped raise $353,724 – a record outcome for Ladder of Hope events! Thank you for supporting Guild’s work to “fill the gap” to help persons with mental illness lead quality lives.
THE OPEN DOOR
On Dec. 6, six volunteers helped to shop, weigh, log, and load over 1800 lbs of groceries for families in need - by far a record total for our group! Your donation of time has made a difference in the lives of 27 families as the holiday season is upon us.
THE KICK-START HOLIDAY CHOIR
Also on Dec. 6, a festive group of twelve talented Kick-Starters and Interact students, plus Gene, descended upon the Commons on Marice with abundant holiday cheer to share, some of it in musical form. Who knew the vocal and instrumental talent hiding in plain view among our morning breakfast crew? Thank you Carol Wirsbinski for organizing this fun event.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR DEDICATION TO OUR COMMUNITY!
