Thank you for your forbearance while Kick-Start News was on hiatus during your secretary's mission trip to Guatemala. Normal publication resumes this week.
What a fun night! The house was packed, cake was served, beverages were flowing, and comedy talent abounded! Ali Sultan and his People of Comedy troupe introduced Eagan to their unique brand of humor and maybe even a new perspective on life in Minnesota. Big thank yous to Art Worksfor their unmatched hosting skills and to all volunteers from AWE and Kick-Start for making our first Kick-Start Comedy Showcase a success!
Say, “ALOHA, tropics!” and “goodbye, winter!” This adults-only event includes a stroll along the Tropics Trail at the Minnesota Zoo, a tasty island beverage and delicious tropical-inspired food. Live music will transport you far away from the bold frozen north! Look forward to an impactful TreeHouse program highlighting stories from south metro TreeHouse teens. Hawaiian shirts are strongly encouraged! All proceeds benefit Eagan, Lakeville and Bloomington TreeHouses.

20+ Kick-Starters and friends/family members fanned out to nearby Cub Foods stores during Super Bowl weekend to raise money for The Open Door in the expanded 2019 Super Bagging event. Thanks everyone for helping The Open Door raise around $40,000 this year!
Volunteers will be sewing and assembling kits for Days for Girls International. There are jobs for people who sew and non-sewers too. Please provide your email address if you'd like to volunteer. We'll send you a registration form. You're welcome to come for a few hours or the whole day. We hope to assemble 200 kits! Eagan's Rotary Clubs are sponsoring two foreign exchange students at Eagan High School during the 2018-19 school year. There are still opportunities to be a host family. Families of all types are suitable - with or without children, empty nesters, working or retired - but must live in the Eagan High School attendance boundary. If you or someone you know live within the Eagan High School attendance boundary and would consider hosting a student, please contact Nate Danielson at 612-499-0193 for more details.
Take a minute to think about what you are truly passionate about. Then, the next time you are among your Rotary friends, take a look around. The people you see are the horsepower ready and willing to turn your passion into action. Then take a look at the Rotary District 5950 Grants webpage. There awaits a pool of funds to do the same.
Helping to turn your passion into action is why we all meet each week. So develop your idea and harness the club to do what it does best!
