Weekly Inspiration
Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.
 Oprah Winfrey
Plant a Tree!
Join us and help plant the trees acquired through district grant funding along with funds from our own Eagan Kick-Start Rotary Club.
If you intend to help with the planting, please wear appropriate footwear and consider bringing work gloves.
But we want to maximize turnout so everyone is welcome, even if just for the photo op!
Kick-Start Volunteers at The Open Door
On Thursday June 7 Eagan Kick-Start has committed to providing a team of 6-7 volunteers to The Open Door to assist in client grocery shopping and checkout. Clients arrive beginning at 5:30pm; volunteers should arrive 20 minutes early for orientation. Spouses/partners are welcome.
Be a Mentor
Eagan Kick-Start Rotary tries to pair each new member with a mentor to help them navigate some of the Rotary websites and answer any questions.
We are looking for three right now. If interested, please contact Nate Danielson.
Thanks!
Well THAT was quick!
If you were wondering what just flashed by in a blur, it was spring. It's over now and summer is here.
Thank you to everyone who purchased and/or sold Gertens Plant Cards, especially Robert Schuchman, Barry Minsker, and Dave Verbeke for boosting our overall sales.
Our club earned over $900 from card sales in May.
Although the spring rush is over, our account remains active at Gertens year-round so if you have any large plant purchases to make, contact Mike Supina and he will set you up with some Gertens Plant Cards.
Funfest, Beer, and You!
Kick-Start has committed to staffing several shifts at the Beer Tent during the Eagan July 4 Funfest.
If you've signed up for a shift, please don't forget to show up!.
If you've received training, you can still sign up to help. Sign up for a shift here.
Contact Denise Sjöberg with any questions.
Thanks!
Young Life Host Families Needed
Tony Ripley, a former member of the Eagan Rotary Club, is looking for some host families to host students he is bringing from Bulgaria to the United States. The days are fairly booked. The hope is the host family could provide breakfast, an end of day respite, and a place to sleep. Contact Scott Swenson with any questions.
Thanks!
Propel Your Passion!
Take a minute to think about what you are truly passionate about. Then, the next time you are among your Rotary friends, take a look around. The people you see are the horsepower ready and willing to turn your passion into action. Then take a look at the Rotary District 5950 Grants webpage. There awaits a pool of funds to do the same.
Helping to turn your passion into action is why we all meet each week. So develop your idea and harness the club to do what it does best!
