Many Kick-Starters have loved ones in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. Imagine if a disaster occurred that left every resident of those three states with no electricity, safe drinking water, or even mobile phone service. 3.5 million people desperate for help, some trapped in isolated locations, some with serious medical needs. This is not a hypothetical scenario. It is happening right now, not in the Upper Midwest, but in Puerto Rico, where the entire population, equal to that of three nearby states, is suffering with no relief in sight, perhaps for months. Please check out this link or other organizations dedicated to assisting the Americans of Puerto Rico, and help however you can.
Eagan Kick-Start Rotary sent three representatives to the One Rotary Summit on Sep. 15 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center. Doreen Runquist, Greg Oxley, and Mike Supina teamed with Rotarians from throughout District 5950 to brainstorm strategies for diversifying Rotary membership with regard to gender, age, and culture. District organizers gathered the ideas generated by the 200+ Rotarians in attendance and will synthesize them into new recruiting strategies for keeping Rotary relevant, energized, and more representative of evolving district-wide demographics.
